Ghostwriting-Vorwürfe in Richtung Nas und die Reaktionen

Der amerikanische Rapper Nas wird von der Journalistin Dream Hampton mit Ghostwriting-Vorwürfen konfrontiert. So sollen Jay Electronica und Stic von den Dead Prez den Großteil der Texte von "Untitled" geschrieben haben...

Die amerikanische Journalistin Dream Hampton, die u.a. als Co-Autorin von Jay-Zs Buch Decoded in Erscheinung trat, hat Nas via Twitter beschuldigt, sein Album Untitled, welches zuvor den Arbeitstitel Nigger trug, nicht selbst geschrieben zu haben.

Laut ihrer Aussage sollen Stic von den Dead Prez und Jay Electronica zum größten Teil die Texte verfasst haben. Sie habe zudem etwa sechs Referenz-Songs gehört, in denen die beiden Rapper Tracks von Nas performt haben sollen.

Via Facebookpost gab auch Stic ein Statement dazu ab, in dem er relativ offen über ihre Zusammenarbeit spricht:

"As far as the rumors about myself and jay electronika ghost writing for Nas, let me say this. Nas is one of the if not the most prolific original lyricist to EVER do it. My contributions to his album was a collaboration and an honor and under his direction of what he wanted to convey and say. Haters cant discredit that man's genuis. Nas is the Don."

Etwas später richtete er via Twitter auch nochmal persönliche Worte an Nas:

Auch Jay Electronica meldete sich per Twitter zu Wort und stritt jegliche Ghostwriting-Gerüchte ab:

Nas is one of the Greatest Ever. never has and never will need a ghostwriter. that man’s pen and legacy is without question.

Nach den Vorwürfen von Dream Hampton gab auch FWMJ, seinerseits Autor der Internetseite rappersiknow.com, bekannt, dass Jay Electronica ihm in einem Telefongespräch erzählt habe, dass er für den Text von Nas' Queens get the Money aus dem besagten Album Untitled verantwortlich sei.

Nas selbst gab dazu noch kein Statement ab. In einem Interview vor einigen Tagen, bevor die Anschuldigungen von Dream Hampton publik wurden, wurde er auf das Thema fremdverfasste Texte angesprochen und verneinte jegliche Zusammenarbeit mit Ghostwritern.
